The Hague, 03-06-2024 — The Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denis Bećirović, during his official visit to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, spoke with the mayor of The Hague, Jan van Zanen, at the City Hall. Bećirović emphasized that Sarajevo and The Hague are cities whose mention carries great symbolism.

During the conversation, Bećirović thanked Mayor Van Zanen for his personal engagement, who in 2020 issued approval for the construction of a monument in The Hague dedicated to the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica. It was emphasized that it is very important for the implementation of this project to begin as soon as possible.

"The construction of the monument for the victims of the genocide in Srebrenica is of great importance for the families of the victims, my country, and our civilization. It is our duty to contribute to the development of a culture of remembrance in Europe and the world," emphasized Bećirović.
